From 10 May 2024, the Department of Home Affairs increased the minimum financial capacity requirements for Student and Student Guardian visas.
Use this calculator to estimate the minimum savings or funds you must show to meet the updated financial requirement. This ensures you have enough funds to cover living expenses, travel, and school costs while studying in Australia. Personal Annual Income Requirement
If you are showing evidence of income instead of savings, the minimum annual income required is:
- AUD 87,856 – if you are applying alone (no family members)
- AUD 102,500 – if your application includes family members
This income must be from your spouse, de facto partner, or parents, and they must be able to demonstrate this income through official documents such as tax returns or income statements.
