Find a course that fits your future—not just a popular subject
Explore study options across Australia with A2MS. Compare fields of study, university versus college pathways, typical admission evidence, English requirements, costs and the questions that matter before paying a deposit.
Developed as an education-first research resource with Manmeet Chhabra, COO & Principal Education Consultant (QEAC T284). Education counselling is separate from personalised migration advice.
Rather than a ranked “easy PR course” list, this page helps you build a shortlist that makes academic, financial and career sense.
Starting with a career interest? Use the A2MS Career-to-Course Navigator to explore 32 career directions and the qualifications and professional checks worth investigating before comparing providers.
2026 international education insight: Management & Commerce led international enrolments in both higher education and VET in the latest August 2026 Department of Education summary; IT followed in higher education, and Architecture & Building followed in VET. This describes enrolments, not Google search demand or a prediction of employment. View the official data.
Find the study routes worth investigating for you
Choose your academic background and field. You’ll receive two specific qualification pathways, the entry requirements that matter in that field, and questions to take to Manmeet—rather than the same generic course-selection checklist.
How to interpret this: These are plausible routes to research, not confirmed admission offers or individual course recommendations. Providers decide admission and credit, professional bodies maintain qualification registers, and education pathways never guarantee a job or a visa. Results stay in your browser. Manmeet provides education counselling only; personal migration advice is handled separately by Sunil Choudhary (MARN 2418425).

University or college? Understand typical entry patterns
Requirements vary by the actual programme, country of qualification, campus, intake and provider. The table summarises published entry frameworks and must not be used as a binding admission decision.
| Study route | Academic starting point | Other checks |
|---|---|---|
| University bachelor’s | Recognised Year 12 equivalent; some entry pathways consider previous VET or higher education study | Country-specific grades, subjects, English and programme-specific prerequisites |
| University master’s (coursework) | Usually a recognised bachelor’s degree or qualifying prior award | Relevant prior subjects for some disciplines, academic performance, portfolios, work experience or registration requirements |
| TAFE SA Certificate III / IV | TAFE SA lists general minimums of Year 10 for Certificate III and Year 11 for Certificate IV (or equivalents) | Specific course criteria, English, possible interview, portfolio or aptitude testing |
| TAFE SA diploma / advanced diploma | TAFE SA generally lists Year 12 or equivalent | Course-specific English, assessment and credit arrangements |
| English / foundation / pathways | Depends on the preparatory course and receiving institution | Written conditional progression, length, fees and any recognised credit |
English comparison: Adelaide University publishes IELTS Academic 6.0 overall as a baseline undergraduate minimum, with higher programme-specific requirements; TAFE SA says most of its courses require IELTS Academic 6.0 overall and at least 5.0 in each band. These are provider examples, not Australia-wide thresholds. Adelaide University entry requirements · TAFE SA entry requirements · Flinders graduate-entry Social Work example.
Check the A2MS IELTS/PTE visa score checker separately: meeting the English requirement for a Student visa does not necessarily meet the provider’s admission requirement.

Before you choose: compare the full experience
A course decision is about more than fees or a university ranking. Build a shortlist using these six practical questions:
- Is it registered? Verify the CRICOS provider, course code and exact delivery campus using the government course search.
- What will it cost in total? Include all tuition instalments, living expenses, OSHC, equipment, placements, transport and a buffer. Use Study Australia’s living and education cost guidance.
- What does a normal week look like? Ask for sample timetables, contact hours, labs, placements, online components and outside-class study time.
- What is the evidence of outcomes? Use QILT and provider information to understand graduate experiences, remembering that outcomes are surveys—not promises to individuals.
- What support and scholarships exist? Compare published scholarship rules, international student services, accessibility support, refund terms and course changes.
- Does the pathway still make sense without a further visa? A qualification does not guarantee employment, professional registration or Australian permanent residence.
